Things to do.

Trying to take advantage of, and visit all of the places this area has to offer is too much just for one day, and often a longer period of time gives a chance to experience what this adorable, quaint and traditional area has to offer; and to fully understand its welcoming and almost addictive atmosphere that makes people come back again and again.

There are many reasons to stay in Llanferres and to make the Druid Inn your base.

The Offa's Dyke Path is a long-distance footpath following closely the Wales–England border. This path crosses the A494 2.3 miles from the Druid at the Clwyd Gate or via Bwlch Penbarras where we offer people transfers to and from the gates. Great for walkers at the start or end of their days walk. Opened in 1971, it is one of Britain's National Trails and draws walkers from throughout the world.

Loggerheads Country Park is a very special place, situated 1.7miles away, rich in wildlife and heritage. It’s an ideal gateway for visitors wishing to explore the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley.

Loggerheads sits below the dramatic limestone cliffs of the Alyn Valley where the river enters steep wooded gorges, and open and secluded grasslands. Limestone influences all parts of the park and the nearby hamlet of Cadole.

Keen mountain bikers will be able to follow the many natural wild routes of the Clwydian Hills and ride the Clwyds.

There are also a number of mountain bike centres with built trails of varying difficulty within easy reach. Llandegla Forest and its routes maintained by One Planet Adventure at Coed Llandegla is about twenty minutes’ drive.

Our Story

Druid Inn have gained an enviable reputation locally for the high standard of food served at the Inn. As attractive as the exterior would suggest, this is a place of low beamed ceilings and in the winter roaring log fires, which all add to the olde worlde atmosphere.

Very much a local inn, the Landlady Sam, promises a real taste of Wales that is well worth experiencing. The Druid Inn is set in a truly beautiful countryside, it radiates warmth and old fashioned atmosphere that you might have thought had disappeared for ever but it still exists here, so come and enjoy.

The Druid Inn offers neat and comfortable accommodation. All rooms are en-suite, with a separate guest bathroom if relaxing in a warm, steamy bath is what you prefer. The accommodation consists of five bedrooms: Two doubles, two twins and a single room. Every bedroom is fitted with a colour television and tea/coffee facilities and furnished to ensure comfort and a peaceful night’s sleep.

Testimonial:

Perfect place for a Sunday lunch. Booked the Druid inn for Father's Day, the best customer service you could ask for, lovely surroundings and an extremely tasty Sunday roast and good ales. Perfect location for a meal after a long walk in the area. Dog friendly in the pub area.
